Chongqing Built Fast Lane for Foreign Trade Vehicle Customs Clearance

By ZHAN CHEN6|Dec 27,2022

Chongqing- In Chongqing Yuzui freight station on December 20, 225 Chongqing-made cars were loaded onto an international train of a commercial vehicle of China Railway Express (Yuxinou) that was headed for European countries via Horgos port in Xinjiang.

Also called JSQ special train, this train is the first of the China Railway Express (Yuxinou) to be directly delivered at the customs clearance in Chongqing without customs declaration at the border port.

It has opened up an efficient and convenient international logistics channel for automobile enterprises in Chongqing and its surrounding regions, with an aim to expand global markets.

Each container can load 9-10 cars

In light of the increase in overseas orders and the short delivery cycle at the end of the year, it has become urgent to deliver locally produced cars to the overseas market quickly and safely.

With the JSQ special train for export, commercial vehicles can drive directly into the compartment without installing brackets, and each container can carry 9-10 cars.

This kind of single-batch transportation is more prominent than traditional container transportation, with more volume, higher handling efficiency, and lower transportation costs, guaranteeing transportation stability and security.

50% more effective than via container trains

This JSQ special train can leave the country at Horgos Port about five days after customs declaration and inspection at Yuzui Station, twice as practical as transportation via sea and 50% more effective than that via container trains.

According to Wang Qian, the project leader of Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., this has improved the efficiency of commodity vehicle transportation, reduced the transportation costs of vehicle enterprises, and achieved time efficiency, low costs, and large quantities at the same time.

"The new model will optimize Chongqing's vehicle export business, ease the pressure of customs clearance at ports, and improve transport efficiency," said Liu Xiangbin, an official of the Chongqing Customs District. "I believe that in the future, more vehicles will rely on this customs channel to exchange commodities, boosting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road."

With extensive experience in the transportation of complete vehicles, primarily through the Chongqing vehicle import port, an important port in inland China, China Railway Express (Yuxinou) has run steadily for a number of years.

Various transportation schemes have been developed, such as pallet containers, frame shipping containers, etc. Several Chinese brands have been able to deliver out of the country utilizing these transportation routes, which has enhanced their international competitiveness.

Horgos, meaning "a place where caravans pass," used to be a trading post along the northern route of the ancient Silk Road. Horgos Port launched the China-Europe freight train service in 2016 and has since witnessed a steady rise in the number of trains passing through it.

Because of its geographical advantage, Xinjiang has had the opportunity to open up and expand economic cooperation with other countries after the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed in 2013.
