Chongqing- On January 1, the first day of the New Year, goods from all directions gathered in Chongqing, Southwest China, and were transported to the world via several inland channels.
One example is a train loaded with new energy vehicles, which started from Tuanjiecun Railway Station and will leave the country via Mohan Port. It is expected to arrive in Vientiane, Laos, in 5-7 days.
The New International Land-sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) opened rail-sea intermodal trains in Tuanjie Village, Xiaonanya, and Guoyuan Port on the same day.
These trains will be distributed to Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and other regional comprehensive economic partnership (RCEP) member countries.

Chongqing's mechanical, characteristic agricultural, and sideline products were transported by trains worth more than 30 million yuan. Their arrival at Qinzhou Port in Guangxi is scheduled for January 3, and they will head abroad.
"These trains are a good start to the new year for ILSTC, helping Chongqing remain connected to RCEP member states," said a responsible of the ILSTC Operation Co., Ltd.
As the RCEP agreement took effect for Indonesia on January 2, 2022, these trains carrying Chongqing-made motorcycle parts will be exported to Semarang, Indonesia, and the goods are expected to reduce tariffs by 0.4% to 10%.
As Chongqing's main corridor headed west, the China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) ran six trains on January 1, carrying goods like smart terminals, industrial accessories, food, etc.
Four of the six trains are outbound for Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Belarus, while two will return to Chongqing from Germany.
Since the China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) opened in 2020, Chengdu and Chongqing have worked together on the corridor and optimized transport resources.
Up to now, China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) has run over 10,000 trains in the past two years, shipping nearly 900,000 twenty-foot equivalent units.
Over 40 countries and 100 important cities in Europe and Asia are covered by its transport routes, making it a high-level regional cooperation model.
