Chongqing Welcomes First Inbound Flight after Covid Regulation Lifted

Chongqing - Air China Flight CA452 took off from Dubai and landed at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 11:17 am on Jan 8; at Terminal 3, it was the first inbound flight after Covid-19 disease was downgraded from Class A to Class B.

At 10:30 am, many people arrived at Terminal 3, which is for International, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan arrival with bouquets. They were waiting for their loved ones to return.

Following one another out of the international arrival gate, passengers returning to Chongqing hugged their loved ones and expressed how much they had missed them.

The 262 inbound passengers had a quick and effortless arrival process with only standard customs and immigration inspections after removing the requirements for quarantine and undergoing a nucleic acid test.

Under the new requirements, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will actively cooperate with customs and immigration inspection and take other related measures to improve services for inbound passengers. It expects to resume the original inbound passenger arrival procedure before the covid-19 outbreak.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport dismantled facilities put in place for closed-loop transportation overnight to handle the surge in inbound passenger numbers. And it also restored the original signs on the outbound route of passengers, as well as operational services, such as inquiries and entry duty-free shops.

As of January 2023, 11 international (regional) routes from Chongqing to Hong Kong, Macao, Madrid, Rome, Singapore, Bangkok, Vientiane, Seoul, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Budapest have been in operation at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
