By YAN DENGKENNY DONGXINGCHEN YUE|Jan 15,2023

Chongqing - The first session of the Sixth Chongqing Municipal People's Congress opened on January 13. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, Philippine Consul General in Chongqing, shared her insights after listening to the 2023 Chongqing Municipal People's Government Work Report.

"I'd like to congratulate the people and government of Chongqing for the impressive accomplishments of the past year. The work program ahead is equally impressive, comprehensive, and quite sophisticated," Mayo said.

According to the Consul General, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Philippines, paid a state visit to China in January, and the leaders of the two countries have laid out their future bilateral relations.

"Listening to the lofty plans for Chongqing, I noted several synergies we can work on for mutual benefit. I must mention agriculture, infrastructure, energy, and people-to-people ties." Mayo added, "These are priority areas that our consulate and agencies here in Chongqing can look at to contribute to the overall enhancement of bilateral relations."

"We look forward to the year ahead as Chongqing works to fulfill its vision. We also welcome partnerships to promote more friendly exchanges and healthier partnerships between the Philippines and Chongqing," Mayo said.
