Chongqing- Regarded as the distinctive industrial park for Chongqing intelligent connected new energy vehicles, Yufu New City, located in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, has reached an industrial output value of 109.1 billion yuan (16.25 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022, up by 51% year-on-year. It plays a vital role in Chongqing’s industrial development.  

One-third of Chongqing’s total vehicle amount

Gathering the leading five Chongqing automobile manufacturers, including Changan Automobile, Seres, Changan New Energy, Ruichi, and Avatr, Yufu New City has already formed the automobile industrial layout.  

In 2022, the automobile output value in Yufu New City will reach 97.2 billion yuan (14.49 billion U.S. dollars), up 53% year-on-year. It has produced 680,000 vehicles, up 25% year-on-year, accounting for one-third of Chongqing’s total vehicle amount.

Remarkably, the new energy vehicle produced in Yufu reached 176,000 units, up 292% year-on-year. The middle and high-end model takes larger market shares, and the auto brands are also stepping into a medium and high-end level.

At Changan Global R&D Center, their exhibited product Changan models, including SL03, which equips the leading remote valet parking assist in realizing more accessible parking everywhere. 

This model has already applied for over 1,300 patents covering the field of battery, electric drive, electronic control, intelligence, and appearance.

Another auto manufacturer Seres has innovated in electric drive and intelligent connected field. It has over 1,000 patents and built the industry-leading super electric drive-connected tech platform DE-i.

The model Seres  5 debuted at Brussels Auto Show lately and signed contracts with over 20 partners, totaling over 20,000 vehicle orders.

Over 100 globally renowned auto parts suppliers

Yufu New City has brought in over 100 globally famous auto parts suppliers, ensuring a complete industry chain for the automobile industry.

Cloudchild is one of the key suppliers, having launched the first global 6-in-1 PIM MOSFET module. Its factory was put into operation in November 2022, devoted to the production, testing, and screening of automotive-grade power semiconductor IGBT module, SiC module, and PIM module, easing the situation of chip shortage in the automobile industry.

The high-end equipment and electronic information industries also contribute to Yufu New City’s development.

The high-end equipment industry achieves an output value of 443 million U.S. dollars in 2022, up 12% year-on-year. Yufu New City brought 22 rail transport equipment providers and boosted the world-renowned company ABB into the final construction.

Formovie Tech and Unisinsight were put into operation in Yufu, New City, adding new growth opportunities for the electronic information industry. The industry will achieve an output value of 1.12 billion U.S. dollars in 2022, up 62% year-on-year.

Yufu New City sees the significant progress of Chongqing’s industry development. 

Yufu has gathered three automobile research and development centers with 9,496 research staff.
