Chongqing - Chongqing achieved a regional GDP of 2912.903 billion yuan (about USD 429.55 billion) in 2022, an increase of 2.6% over the same period of the previous year, said Huang Ke, director of the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Statistics.

In 2022, Chongqing's economy recovered steadily, production demand remained stable, the quality of development steadily improved, and the overall economic operation remained steady progress and efficient.

The increased value of the primary industry reached 201.205 billion yuan (about USD 29.67 billion), an increase of 4.0%; The increased value of the secondary sector reached 1169.386 billion yuan (about USD 172.44 billion), an increase of 3.3%; The increased value of the tertiary industry reached 1542.312 billion yuan (about USD 227.45 billion), an increase of 1.9%.

Chongqing's economic operation in 2022 featured many highlights.

Enhancing structural benefits continued to improve, whereas Chongqing focused on promoting high-quality development. In 2022, the increased value of the city's automobile and motorcycle industries increased by 7.1%.

Chongqing was guided by innovation and development and promoted the development of industries related to the digital economy. 

From January to November 2022, the operating income of Internet platforms above designated size, digital content services, information processing, and storage support services in the city increased by 1.2 times, 49.7%, and 55.0%, respectively. 

The livelihood guarantee among residents and energy supply continued to strengthen. Chongqing has increased its efforts to ensure energy supply and ensure the needs of production and life. 

Furthermore, in 2022, the city's retail sales of life security goods increased steadily. The power generation of industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city increased by 1.6%, and natural gas production increased by 1.5%.
