Chongqing - On February 20, Yuan Jiajun, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, and Hu Henghua, Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, met with Eric Musser, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Corning.

During the meeting, Yuan Jiajun and Hu Henghua expressed their warm welcome to Musser and his delegation and thanked Corning for their strong support in the economic and social development of Chongqing over the past years.
Yuan emphasized the importance of implementing national strategies, such as constructing the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, to transform Chongqing into a modern and international metropolis. The construction of the modern Chongqing represents significant development opportunities, and Corning, a world leader in material sciences and a Fortune 500 company, has established a solid foundation for cooperation with Chongqing.
Chongqing highly values Corning's investment and development in the region and hopes that the company will remain confident in Chongqing's future. Yuan also encouraged Corning to utilize their existing production capacity, accelerate the implementation of new projects, increase their research and development investment, and actively participate in constructing the modern industrial system in Chongqing. Additionally, he suggested that Corning expand cooperation in intelligent connected vehicles, healthcare, and other industries, to share development opportunities and achieve win-win cooperation.
Furthermore, Chongqing will firmly expand its opening-up policy, continuously optimize its business environment, and provide comprehensive enterprise services to create favorable conditions for Corning's development in Chongqing.
Musser expressed his gratitude for Chongqing's care and support for Corning's development in the region and congratulated the city on its significant achievements in economic development. He shared Corning's development history and future strategic direction during the meeting.
Musser acknowledged that Chongqing has a solid industrial foundation and a superior business environment, and the city provided vital support to ensure the smooth implementation of cooperation projects during the pandemic.
He said that Corning has great confidence in Chongqing's future development and cooperation. He expressed a willingness to continue to invest in Chongqing, actively participate in the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, accelerate project construction progress, deepen cooperation in logistics, technology research and development, and engineering innovation, and better support the construction of modern Chongqing.
