The buzzword of the day is “Major-Country Diplomacy.”

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang held a press conference this morning on the sidelines of the first session of the 14th National People’s Congress. Qin answered questions from journalists from home and abroad on China’s foreign policy and foreign relations.

As China’s domestic COVID-19 situation improves, China has steadily resumed exchanges with foreign countries, and China’s diplomacy has pressed the “acceleration button” and sounded the clarion call.

Chinese modernization always puts people first and suits China’s reality. It upholds peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit. It’s an unprecedented feat in human history, and the process of Chinese modernization boosts global peace, justice, and progress.

China always plays an active part in global governance and will promote a new type of international relations and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

This year marks the tenth year of the Belt and Road Initiative. China will follow the guidance of head-of-state diplomacy and ensure the success of two major diplomatic events that the country will host, the first China-Central Asia Summit and the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, to show the distinctive character of China’s diplomacy. Containment and suppression won’t stop China’s rejuvenation, and China calls for unity and cooperation of the international community to build an open, inclusive, clean, and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security, and common prosperity.
