Chongqing Expands Film and Television Resources in 2023 FILMART

Chongqing - On March 13, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) hosted the opening ceremony of the 2023 Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The four-day event brought together over 700 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, all eager to explore international market opportunities in the film and television entertainment industry.

Chongqing Film Production Industry Association delegation and the "Lily Zhou Film Club" from Chongqing attended the event. The delegation participated in various activities at the exhibition site.

During the exhibition, the association visited the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association and other counterparts to promote Chongqing's one-stop film and television production service platform. The goal is to attract both domestic and foreign film and television companies to shoot and produce their content in Chongqing.

Li Tingting, General Manager of Chongqing Bubu Pictures, a member of the delegation, aimed to connect with existing resource platforms, promote the company's latest work, a children's sci-fi animation, and visit the organizers of the Hangzhou International Cartoon & Animation Festival to schedule this year's special roadshow.

Besides, the film and television social group in Chongqing is full of enthusiasm. The "Lily Zhou Film Club" dedicated to promoting art films was very eye-catching, with 18 people at the exhibition, holding banners and shouting the slogan "travel with movies."

Lily Zhou, the founder of the film group, said that they supported various international and independent film festivals and were happy to receive attention from an international film exhibition.

The FILMART is Asia's largest cross-media and cross-industry film and entertainment trade fair. The event showcases upcoming films and plans for the coming year. Hong Kong film production companies such as Emperor Motion Pictures and Media Asia set up booths at the exhibition. Famous film and television companies from the Chinese mainland, such as Daylight Entertainment and Linmon Media, and video platforms like iQiyi and Youku, are also showcasing their works at the venue.

The Entertainment Pulse forum, held simultaneously, hosts multiple seminars covering topics such as "The Craze of Reality Love Shows" and "Chinese Animated Films Going Global: The Soft Power of Chinese Culture." The seminars analyze the latest market trends and industry development in-depth to help companies seize film and entertainment business opportunities.
