As the 2023 spring tourism season approaches, Chongqing's districts and counties have launched more than 200 culture and tourism activities, including flower viewing tours, camping music festivals, folk culture festivals, and sports events, to provide residents and tourists with a variety of spring outing options.

Flower viewing has become a popular tourist activity in spring. As tulips, cherry blossoms, canola flowers, plum blossoms, pear blossoms, peach blossoms, and other flowers come into full bloom, Chongqing's districts and counties have launched various flower appreciation activities relying on their respective resources.

For example, the 8th Plum Blossom Festival in Hexing Sub-district of Liangping District started on March 13, with more than 200 hectares of plum blossoms in full bloom. The Spring Outing and Flower Appreciation Season in Qingqi Valley of Jiulongpo kicks off this month. Visitors can enjoy canola flowers, peach blossoms, roses, and other flowers for free. They can also have a barbecue, take a picnic or go camping. The 2nd Canola Flower Tourism and Culture Festival of Meixin Wine Town in Fuling District opened on March 19. Residents and tourists can take the cableway to the high-altitude canola flower sea to experience the splendor of spring and enjoy dragon and lion dance and cross-dress dance in the sea of flowers.

The integration of culture, sports, and tourism is a highlight of Chongqing's spring tourism this year. From March to May, Chongqing's districts and counties will carry out events to stimulate spring tourism's vitality, including marathons, orienteering, badminton, and basketball games.

The Chongqing Marathon kicked off on Nanbin Road on March 19, followed by the 3rd Chongqing Dianjiang Peony Marathon on March 26 and the Changshou Lake Half Marathon on April 15. In addition, Dadukou District will host the 2nd C-CO City Orienteering Competition in April, and Qijiang will launch the 2023 "Dingshan Lake Cup" Lake Shore Long-distance Race.

In addition to flower viewing and sports events, this spring also features various art festivals. From March 17 to 19, a camping music festival will occur in Shiniu Village of Nan'an District, where visitors can camp out and listen to a concert. The Qijiang Tea Picking Festival includes a cultural performance, tea art show, tea picking experience, and other activities.

In terms of performances, theater performances such as the "Top of the World" in Chongqing International Circus City and the Chongqing Marathon Festival Performance at Shi Guangnan Grand Theater will provide tourists with more choices for spring outings.
