Chongqing - The starting pistol for the 2023 Chongqing Marathon rang out after a three-year hiatus on March 19th, when 30,000 running enthusiasts from twenty different countries gathered excitedly on Nanbin Road for the full and mini-marathon events.
This iconic road stretching for 25 kilometers along the Yangtze River in Nan’an District is not only a perfect location to display the glamour of marathon events but also offers fantastic views of this mountain and river city along with a feast of historical and cultural landmarks.
As part of this grand comeback on the sports calendar, the district has also organized the “See Chongqing through Nan’an – 2003 Chongqing Marathon International Consumption Festival,” which brings together resources in business, travel, culture, and sports so that citizens can enjoy the vibrant Nan’an Scene from March 17-24, before and after runners have crossed the finish line.
Nanbin Road is a core stretch inside the “Two Rivers and Four Banks” area, which provides a shining name card for the district and is reputed as an urban reception room for Chongqing. The unique scenery and cultural essence have long made this area a top consumer destination for locals and tourists alike.
In advance of the Consumption Festival and Chongqing Marathon, iChongqing reporter James Alexander and Katelin Sogor from the Hungarian Consulate General took part in two promotional videos filmed respectively by day and night, showing audiences across China and worldwide the glamour of Nan’an District.
