Chongqing - On March 17, the third Chongqing Cultural Tourism Photography and Short Video Competition was officially launched, aiming to further build Chongqing as a robust cultural city and a world-renowned tourist destination and showcase the unique charm of the "A Land of Natural Beauty, A City with Cultural Appeal."

Chongqing is a city surrounded by mountains, water, and rivers, known as the "8D Magical City" and the "City Standing Up." In recent years, many film crews have come to Chongqing to shoot scenes, with over 200 film crews coming to Chongqing for location shooting in 2021 alone. From 1933 to 2022, more than 400 films and television shows were shot in Chongqing. Tourist attractions such as Jiefangbei, Hongya Cave, Grand Theatre, Yangtze River Cableway, Raffles City, Fairy Mountain, and Jinfo Mountain have become popular tourist destinations and hot spots for photography enthusiasts.

Qin Dingbo, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, introduced several advantages of the competition.

First, the timing of the competition is good, as the cultural and tourism industry has fully recovered, and photographers and videographers have the best shooting opportunities. 

Second, the themes are wide-ranging, including the central city of Chongqing, the Three Gorges, the Wujiang River, hot springs, culture, and the countryside. 

Third, the competition has a strong professional aspect, as in addition to the public solicitation of entries, well-known photographers have also been invited to participate. 

Finally, the competition has rich content, including an online photography competition, online and offline exhibitions of award-winning works, and field trips to various districts and counties.

Between June and October 2023, the host will organize activities for the winners of the first, second, and third competitions, such as a trip to the central metropolitan area and the Three Gorges and Wujiang River.
