Chongqing has rapidly developed into a digital economy hub, making it the permanent venue for the Smart China Expo, National Pilot Zone for Digital Economy Innovation and Development, and the National Pilot Zone for New-Generation AI Innovation and Development.
The city's intelligent industry has become one of the country's leading industries, with over 20,000 digital economy enterprises and the digital economy-added value accounting for approximately 40% of the regional GDP.
However, despite the rapid growth of the digital economy, Chongqing is still facing a shortage of digital talent, particularly mid-and high-end specialized talents such as architects, data miners, algorithm engineers, and development engineers.
CQUPT has been actively discovering and cultivating digital industry talents to address this shortage. In addition to holding professional competitions in the digital field, the university has established a talent training base for the big data intelligence industry and promotes the digital talent training program.
CQUPT has also formed partnerships with well-known enterprises such as China Telecom, China Mobile, and Huawei, as well as research institutes like China Electronics Technology Group Corporation Limited (CETC) and China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The university has also cooperated with large enterprises in Chongqing, such as Changan Automobile and Silien Group.
By establishing majors in data science, big data technology, and artificial intelligence, CQUPT offers a series of digital courses and practical activities to cultivate high-quality digital talents with professional knowledge and practical experience in information technology.
CQUPT also hosts advanced workshops on cross-border e-commerce, postal express delivery service, and new-generation information and communication technology. These courses also benefit technical experts and high-level management personnel from different countries engaged in the communication industry.
CQUPT plans to deepen its cooperation with colleges and universities, research institutes, and key enterprises in the future. It will continuously optimize and update the curriculum system, provide a nurturing environment for cultivating and practicing enterprise talents, promote the digital transformation of traditional regional industries, and advance the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
