Over the two-day visit, the envoys gained a deeper understanding of the ILSCT's logistical and operational functions and actively sought opportunities for cooperation with the new corridor.
Sanmugan Subramaniam, Counselor of the Malaysian Embassy in China, said that Chongqing plays an important role in the trade between ASEAN, especially Malaysia and China. He added that Malaysia has many goods that can be exported to China, and they look forward to cooperating with Chongqing in various fields.
Lui Tuck Yew, Singaporean Ambassador to China, believes that the success of the ILSTC in recent years is evident. According to their data, the trade volume along the corridor increased more than 30 percent last year. He added that there is enormous potential for the future, and the corridor will become a new gateway connecting China's western region with the world.
One of the important activities of this tour was the business conference held on the afternoon of April 6. The conference provided a face-to-face communication platform for various countries' diplomatic envoys, officials, their organizations, business representatives, domestic departments, and companies to exchange and negotiate cooperation. The conference included themed promotions, key provincial and municipal promotions along the corridor, and enterprise promotions.
