Hu Henghua, on behalf of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, said that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong reached a series of important consensuses during their meeting on March 31 this year, giving new connotations and new impetus to deepening the cooperation of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI).

Currently, Chongqing is steadily promoting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, accelerating the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), and striving to develop itself into a new modern socialist city in an all-round way.

As a major port investment group globally, PSA International has positively contributed to CCI development. Hu hopes that PSA International will provide continuous support for CCI, attracting more enterprises to participate in ILSTC construction, deepening CCI cooperation, and promoting more logistics chain coordination.

Hu invited Tan and other representatives of Singaporean political and business organizations to attend the CCI-ILSTC International Cooperation Forum and other activities where development opportunities can be shared to create a better future together.

The cooperation in ILSTC construction between Chongqing and Singapore is getting closer. 

Statistics show that, from the operation of rail-sea intermodal trains passing via ILSTC to October 2022, the number of twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) transported between Chongqing and Singapore via ILSTC totaled 8,901, with the cargo value reaching 1.352 billion yuan; from January to September 2022, 1,947 TEUs were carried by these trains between the two places, with the cargo value totaling 404 million yuan.

Tan said that PSA International would continuously advance the CCI development and ILSTC construction, give full play to its advantages when exploring overseas markets with Chongqing enterprises, and strive for new and more outstanding results in the cooperation between Chongqing and Singapore.
