Chongqing - The Strategic Summit of Consumer Goods Industry in Increasing Variety, Improving Quality, and Creating Brand will be held at the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center from May 5 to 7, according to the press conference held on April 26.
The summit aims to effectively promote the intelligent, green, and high-end development of the consumer goods industry, build a modern industrial system for the consumer goods industry, and promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
As one of the theme exhibitions of the summit, the Second China (Chengdu-Chongqing) Food Industry Expo will invite more than 600 brand enterprises in the food industry from the Sichuan-Chongqing region in southwestern China, with an exhibition area of 25,000 square meters.
Six on-site exhibitions will be set up, including Sichuan-Chongqing Collaborative Development Comprehensive Exhibition, Supply Chain and Cold Chain Exhibition, Food and Raw Materials Exhibition, Prefabricated Dishes Exhibition, etc.
“We will build an internationally competitive prefabricated food industry base and focus on building a national prefabricated food center, a refabricated food equipment manufacturing center, and a prefabricated food e-commerce live broadcast center,” said Tang Junyi, deputy mayor of the Liangping District People’s Government.

As the critical grain-producing region in the country, Liangping has promoted new industrialization, leading to high-quality development with scientific and technological innovation. It aims to build a public brand as the capital of prefabricated food in western China by seizing the development track of the prefabricated food industry.
Not only Liangping Zhang Ya Zi and other prefabricated food products with local characteristics will show at the exhibition, but also popular products such as Hai Lao Han seafood prefabricated food could offer for everyone to try.
“We continue to strengthen the quality and standards of prefabricated food and enrich the category of Liangping prefabricated food,” Tang added.
“At the same time, we cooperate with Jiangnan University and the College of Food Science of Southwest University to fully promote the research and development of new prefabricated food,” Tang said. “We have set up a one billion yuan (about USD 144.423 million) prefabricated food industry fund to provide comprehensive services for enterprises investing in Liangping.”
According to the press conference, approximately 100 beauty brands will participate in the China (Western) Beauty Science and Technology Innovation Conference, another thematic exhibition at the summit.
"Banan District will focus on cultivating and developing the beauty industry as a starting point for building an international consumption center by hosting the China (Western) Beauty Science and Technology Innovation Conference," said Dai Jianhong, deputy mayor of the Banan District People's Government.
Chongqing aims to create a comprehensive platform for transforming beauty technology by integrating upstream R&D resources for scientific and technological innovation, raw material suppliers, and downstream market brand demanders at the exhibition.
Furthermore, it will explore innovative cultivation methods and support personal care beauty brands in establishing brand incubation centers in Chongqing.
"By leveraging science, technology, and design, we aim to discover a new approach to nurturing the beauty industry. Our goal is to create a unique trend with Chongqing characteristics and elevate the consumer goods industry toward the mid-to-high-end market," added Dai.
