Chongqing - The Western (Chongqing) Science City released the first list of application scenarios for the construction project of the intelligent connected vehicle demonstration area on April 26th, including 11 project scenarios with a total investment of approximately 117 million yuan (about USD 16.9 million).
The construction project of the intelligent connected vehicle demonstration area in the Western (Chongqing) Science City is jointly won by five companies, including the Western China Internet of Vehicles Co., Ltd (WCIV).
The project is located in the science city region, aiming at the large-scale and commercial application of intelligent connected vehicles, following the implementation of the “Chinese Solution” for intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs).

The “Chinese Solution” for ICVs is a concept proposed by academician Li Keqiang of Tsinghua University. It aims to integrate vehicles, roads, cloud services, networks, and maps. It has technical characteristics that enable collaborative sensing, decision-making, and control functions, as well as social attributes that meet the requirements for the use and management of China’s transportation and communication infrastructure.
“In addition to the infrastructure of the integrated vehicle-road-cloud, we also have plans to build nine more intelligent connected vehicle application scenarios in the future,” said Dr. Chang Xueyang, the technical vice president of WCIV.
As the platform for promoting the implementation and development of the “Chinese Solution,” WCIV is the leading company in this project. It will play an important role in the overall planning, the project construction, and the operation in the later stage.
“WCIV will continue to expand the coverage of infrastructure construction, increase the types and number of service scenarios, and the application scale of connected vehicles,” Chang said.
According to the Western (Chongqing) Science City, the release of the application scenario list aims to attract key technology companies in the intelligent connected vehicle industry and enterprises and talents.
On the same day, more than 20 technology-based companies, including Western Intelligent Connected Vehicle Co., Ltd, CICT-CI, China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute, China Mobile, and Yiwei Yihang, attended the release conference.
