Chongqing - The Action for Green China into Liangping and the 2nd Mingyue Mountain Ecological Tourism and Culture Festival were recently launched in Liangping District, Chongqing.

Liangping is the only wetland city in southwestern China, with more than 400 model micro-wetlands featuring organic industries, local guesthouses, and ecological tourism.

Over the years, Liangping has insisted on the integrated protection and systemic management of 408 rivers, 78 lakes, and wetland resources in its territory. Liangping has pioneered the small and micro wetland ecological protection and restoration model, which is highly recognized by the international community.

During the event, eight cities and counties jointly established the Small and Micro Wetland Innovation Alliance, with its secretariat in Liangping. 

The alliance aims to protect and utilize small and micro wetlands, explore new ways to realize the value of wetland ecological products, diversify the development of wetland models, and provide suggestions for high-quality wetland conservation in China.
