Chongqing - Fengdu Temple Fair, a national-level intangible cultural heritage event in Southwest China's Chongqing, continued its popularity during the May Day holiday, with a vibrant street parade showcasing rich folklore in the riverside promenade of the Mountain Ming scenic area.
The parade officially commenced at 4:00 p.m. each day during the five-day holiday. The lengthy procession highlighted not only traditional culture but also featured foreign influences from afar, including local intangible heritage performance troupes, a variety of immortal drama characters, and the cosplay of game characters from all walks of life. As each group passed by the visitors, they attracted bursts of applause and laughter. Numerous spectators eagerly recorded the captivating scenes on their mobile phones.
In Fengdu, besides watching the temple parade, visitors can immerse themselves in the area's unique "ghost culture." In the evening, the electric carnival and drone show provide guests with the ultimate auditory and visual experience.
