Foreign Youths Share Experiences in Chongqing's Public Welfare Programs

Chongqing - Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation recently hosted the "Land and Sea Sharing and Exchange Meeting," bringing together participants of the "Land-Sea Promise - Foreign Youth Public Welfare and Creation Program" to share and summarize their experiences.

The program involved over 50 foreign youths from 18 countries and aimed to research, perceive, and actively engage in Chongqing's public welfare services. It also supported and guided five foreign kids in launching and implementing remarkable benefit projects. The meeting served as an opportunity to optimize the program, showcase its accomplishments, and explore ways to enhance the project model.

Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation, a non-profit organization, promotes Chongqing's city image and public welfare initiatives. The event began with an introduction to the foundation and an overview of Chongqing's current public welfare state. During the meeting, foreign youth participants shared their experiences and insights gained from the projects they were involved in.

Ebrahim Abdulsalam, a Yemeni student at Chongqing University, expressed his thoughts on the project "The Dazu Stone Carving Guardian." This initiative aimed to explore the Dazu Rock Carvings, one of the world's eight main grottoes while interacting with cultural relics volunteers dedicated to preserving these valuable historical treasures in rural areas.

Nigora from Tajikistan shared her involvement in a project focused on rural development. She described her visit to Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County in Chongqing, where she had the opportunity to witness the promising results of rural revitalization and engage with local residents.

Al-Haimi Yousef Ali Hussein, another Yemeni student at Chongqing University, shared his experience in a different project. He and other foreign youths participated in building eco-craft trails in the fire-stricken area of Jinyun Mountain in Chongqing, guided by trail construction experts.

Diane Léa Alice Juliette, a French student at Chongqing University, shared her experiences participating in a raptor spotting activity at the Nanshan Golden Eagle in April. She said that she was previously unaware Chongqing also enjoyed the "Eagle City" status until joining this activity.

Susana, a Spanish doctoral student in architecture at Chongqing University, presented her project called "Green Lights." Together with Aida, a doctoral student in energy from Burkina Faso, they organized a research and sharing event on green lighting principles and sustainable development at Yucai Middle School in Jiulongpo District.

The meeting concluded by recognizing outstanding young participants in the public welfare projects and presenting them with certificates of achievement. The foundation also arranged experiential activities to immerse participants in Chongqing's local culture. These activities included trying on traditional costumes such as Hanfu and Tujia ethnic clothing and engaging in traditional handicraft experiences like making Ai grass sachets and block printing.

The Land and Sea Promise program, organized by the Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation, aims to foster cultural exchange and deepen international students' understanding of Chongqing's public welfare initiatives. With a focus on public welfare and culture as exchange topics, the program offers foreign participants an authentic Chongqing experience while promoting friendly interactions between Chinese and foreign youth.
