Chongqing - The main construction of the Chongqing Dry Port Project has been completed, passing the final acceptance inspection on June 12th. It is expected to be put into operation in the second half of this year.
"Dry Port will serve as an international logistics distribution center integrating logistics, trade, industry, and finance," said the expert panel during the acceptance inspection. "This milestone project is considered a symbol of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC)."
A dry port refers to a non-port area that has been granted the authority to offer a series of port services, such as customs declaration, customs inspection, and issuing bills of landing. Goods carried overseas through the dry port are entitled to relevant preferential policies.
The Chongqing Dry Port project spans 269 acres with a construction area of approximately 108,000 square meters, including intelligent container yards, cold chain warehouses, frozen food processing facilities, general warehouses, office buildings, supporting facilities, and related ancillary infrastructure.

The ILSTC Operations Center at Dry Port will leverage the distinctive products from different provinces, cities, and regions along the ILSTC and local specialties from RCEP countries to create a unique platform integrating warehousing, delivery, exhibition, and distribution.
It will fully utilize the advantages of the ILSTC's logistics channel and international supply chain system. It will actively participate in the entire process from procurement and transportation to sales, providing integrated trade and logistics value-added services and accelerating the deep integration of commerce and logistics.
The International Shipping Container Sharing and Allocation Center will be built around the ILSTC's multimodal transportation routes, particularly Chongqing to Qinzhou to ASEAN.
Establishing a container-sharing and allocation public service platform that facilitates high-level sharing and flexible allocation among multiple parties, the center will promote the application of a unified bill of lading for multimodal transportation and innovate in the application of intermodal service rules.
The Import and Export Cold Chain Distribution Center will establish a third-party, public cold storage with approximately 160,000 cubic meters of capacity. It will actively integrate the cold chain logistics needs for imported frozen meat, fruits, and vegetables, creating a distribution center for cold chain fruits and frozen meat.
The Digital Finance Innovation Demonstration Center will leverage advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, 5G, and big data to provide a green, efficient, and secure intelligent solution for the production and operation of Chongqing Dry Port.
With the completion of Chongqing Dry Port, the region's distribution capabilities along the ILSTC will significantly strengthen. This will not only optimize the logistics organization system in the Chengdu-Chongqing region but also facilitate the development of logistics cooperation between the two regions, driving the opening up process in Sichuan and Chongqing and leading the way in the Western region.
