Global Natural History Day® (GNHD®) is a youth natural science extracurricular education activity initiated by Kenneth. E. Behring, a recipient of China's National Friendship Award, the founder of the Global Health and Education Foundation since 2012. It aims to ignite the interest of primary and secondary school students in natural sciences and enhance their research, analytical, and communication abilities.
Since 2012, GNHD has organized 12 editions, with nearly a million teachers and students participating. Starting from 2013, the Chongqing Natural History Museum has hosted the Chongqing division competition for 11 consecutive years, providing a powerful platform for young individuals to showcase their talents.
The GNHD event comprises five categories: exhibition, performance, science painting, storytelling, and science demonstration, with participation required in a team format involving teachers and students.

The theme for the 2023 edition is "Seeing small things – Nature's small perspective and big vision," encouraging participants to explore nature's mysteries from microscopic and macroscopic dimensions.
A total of 323 teams stood out from the preliminary rounds and advanced to the Chongqing division finals. The teams included 50 exhibition groups (including the English category), ten performance groups, 101 science paintings groups, 130 storytelling groups (including the English category), and 32 science demonstration groups. On the finals day, the shortlisted teams presented their refined works.
