Chongqing - Zholboldiev Beisen, president of the Kazakhstan National Entrepreneurs Association, said in a meeting with the Chongqing delegation that he would lead Kazakhstan enterprises to visit Chongqing and participate in the upcoming Smart China Expo.

From June 25 to June 26, a trade delegation comprising 24 Chongqing-based companies, led by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, had been in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to conduct a series of surveys and meet local entrepreneurs.

"It is estimated that by 2060, Kazakhstan's clean and alternative energy power generation will account for more than 80%," said Beisen. "Kazakhstan, like China, is committed to achieving the goal of carbon neutrality before 2060. Currently, Kazakhstan is seeking energy transformation."

He said, "We would like to discuss purchasing about 600 small new energy trucks with our friends from Chongqing."

Xu Xincheng, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that deepening cooperation and exchanges between Chongqing and Kazakhstan, both sides are highly complementary in many fields, such as the automobile industry, medical equipment, and e-commerce.

Statistics showed that in 2022, the import and export volume between Chongqing and Kazakhstan reached about 2.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.

The delegates visited local automotive shopping centers such as "QAMQOR CITY" on June 25 afternoon, the largest self-selection center for automobiles called "Mycar Kuldzhinka," and a used car trading market.

They engaged in discussions with business managers and frontline dealers, introducing them to Chongqing's automotive production and export trade.

In recent years, the Chinese automotive industry has expanded into Kazakhstan. In 2022, the volume of automobile exports to Kazakhstan from China increased by nine times, reaching 12,500 vehicles.

Specifically, Chongqing-based heavy-duty truck manufacturers, including Chongqing SAIC Hongyan and Qingling Motors, exported goods worth 38.69 million yuan (5.35 million USD) to Kazakhstan in 2022. This May, 256 "Chongqing-made" automobiles were exported to Kazakhstan via a dedicated train from Chongqing Yuzui Freight Station, passing through the Khorgos Port in Xinjiang.

As the largest automotive market in Central Asia, Kazakhstan exhibits robust demand, which complements Chongqing's advantages in the automotive industry.

From January to April 2023, Chongqing exported 4,119 vehicles worth 490 million yuan (67.71 million USD) to five Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, representing year-on-year growth of 17.8 times and 39.6 times, respectively.
