Chongqing - On July 3 the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the State Grid Corporation of China signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement to boost the high-quality economic and social development of Chongqing.
As part of this agreement, both parties will implement a cooperative mechanism to intensify strategic collaboration. Key areas include ensuring reliable energy and power supply, driving the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, fostering high-quality development of the power grid, propelling technological innovation in energy and power, and advancing the integrated development of the power grid.

Yuan Jiajun highlighted the State Grid Corporation of China as the main force in ensuring the power supply nationwide. He emphasized that this agreement would provide a substantial boost to Chongqing's development.
As a vast international metropolis, Chongqing boasts immense development space and potential. To reach annual development goals and encourage future industry and city growth, there is a need for robust guarantees and efficient support in power and energy supply.
With this agreement, Chongqing's application scenarios will be more effectively utilized, fostering new cooperation opportunities, bettering external electricity coordination to Chongqing, and advancing energy transformation. This move aligns perfectly with the aim of building a modern and new Chongqing.
Xin Bao'an assured that the State Grid Corporation, as the main force in the power supply, would continually strengthen system planning and enact the agreement's content. The corporation is set to manage power dispatch during high electricity demand periods, provide proximity and distance services, and ensure Chongqing's production and daily life electricity needs are met.
Xin underscored their commitment to enhancing the security, climate resilience, and flexibility of the Chongqing power grid. They also intend to participate actively in constructing a new energy system and optimizing the layout of charging and swapping facilities in Chongqing.
