Hualongqiao Free Trade Linkage Innovation Zone to Attract 30 Fortune 500 Companies By 2025

ChongqingThe construction plan for the Hualongqiao Free Trade Linkage Innovation Zone, the global investment promotion for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Comprehensive Industrial Park, and other activities were announced at the press conference for the Construction of the Chongqing (Hualongqiao) International Business District Free Trade Linkage Innovation Zone in the Yuzhong District Exhibition Center on July 5.

The goal of the Chongqing (Hualongqiao) International Business District Free Trade Linkage Innovation Zone is to strive to attract 30 Fortune 500 companies, 80 foreign-funded enterprises, and their subsidiaries by 2025, with average annual utilization of foreign investment exceeding 100 million US dollars and the exploration of five free trade innovation cases.

19 Fortune 500 companies, leading international community models

Located in Yuzhong District, Chongqing (Hualongqiao) International Business District covers an area of approximately 2.6 square kilometers. It is the only licensed foreign trade and commerce zone and a demonstration zone for specialized services (legal services) in Chongqing.

According to Deng Guanghuai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Yuzhong District Committee and Deputy District Mayor of the Yuzhong District, Chongqing (Hualongqiao) International Business District covers a commercial and business capacity of 1.1 million square meters, including 19 Fortune 500 companies, 19 listed companies, more than 60 foreign-funded market entities. The actual annual utilization of foreign investment exceeds 100 million US dollars in Yuzhong District, and key enterprises achieve revenues exceeding 50 billion yuan (about USD 6.9 billion).

In terms of reform and innovation, Chongqing (Hualongqiao) International Business District has actively carried out pioneering reform explorations, such as exploring new models of foreign-related legal services, and has established the first Law Service Center for Overseas Chinese Disputes, foreigner service stations, and Exit & Entry Administration Service Center.

Yuzhong District has also taken the lead in creating a number of high-quality international community models, demonstrating its significant advantages in terms of location, industry, openness, and innovation.

Three major functions support the International Land-Sea Center  

"Chongqing, as an important gateway for China's opening to the West and South, will rely on the Belt and Road Initiative to expand market space, optimize and stabilize industrial and supply chains, and help build a new development pattern in which the domestic and international circulations reinforce each other as the mainstay," said Yi Ping'an, General Manager of Vanke (Chongqing) Enterprise Co., Ltd.

The International Land-Sea Center will become the modern new gateway of Chongqing, which determines three major functions, including the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Comprehensive Industrial Park, the Chongqing-Chinese Central State-Owned Enterprises Headquarters Base, and the Chongqing Digital Economy Industrial Park.

The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Comprehensive Industrial Park, focusing on channel economy and logistics industries, will gather services such as foreign-related legal, consulting, auditing, cross-border taxation, and finance.

The Industrial Park will aggregate logistics and financial data processing and analysis platforms, introduce institutions related to cultural exchange, technological innovation, talent cultivation, and international cooperation, and build an internationally competitive base for professional services and a platform industrial cluster.

Planning the Chongqing-Chinese Central State-Owned Enterprises Headquarters Base will provide space foundations for financial institutions, research institutes, and public institutions, supporting the concentration of Chinese Central State-Owned Enterprises in Chongqing.

In addition, the core area of the Chongqing Digital Economy Industrial Park is dedicated to nurturing new formats and models related to the software industry and creating a distinctive cluster of software and industrial design industries.
