Chongqing - On the evening of July 12, the launching ceremony of the 2023 National Summer Consumption Season and Sleepless Chongqing Life Festival was grandly opened in Yuzhong District, Chongqing.

From July to September, Chongqing will hold a five-night-themed consumption event and more than 200 characteristic activities involving business, culture, tourism, and sports. These activities will improve the development of the night-time economy, promote the brand of “Night long Chongqing,” and provide citizens with a summer consumption feast where tourists and citizens can get many benefits and new experiences.

Two YouTube bloggers from Canada and Singapore--Alex (@ Reporterfy Media&Travel) and Noel Lee (@ Noel Lee) participated in the event and led netizens at home and abroad to experience the charm of sleepless Chongqing.

Alex and Noel Lee first came to the pop-up show, where Tiktok created an area named “Punk Night Life with You” for the theme experience. Two bloggers tasted the fruit beer of the SOMERSBY full of praise; Ele.me（an application to buy takeaway food in China）set up a Night Market, which is full of fun and highlights the characteristics of the night market. Alex introduced the functions of Ele.me to overseas audiences in detail; Chongqing Pure Draft beer set a summer cooling device. Noel took part in the activity of Pure Draft beer and got a bottle of beer by jumping high. Chacheer, Shifu.Kong, Hong Durian, and other well-known brands also set up interactive pop-up vendors at the event site, and the two bloggers also filmed, respectively.

Subsequently, they went to Taobao’s “Star Generation” Wonderful Things Street to shoot at booths such as paper souvenirs, Ajin intangible cultural heritage jewelry, Billy Garden for aromatherapy, and stroking-cat energy station with art toys. At the ancient tree black tea booth, Noel savored various free teas offered by merchants. Alex earnestly consulted the clerk on hand weaving techniques at the “Four Heads” booth and was amazed by the exquisite Chinese handicrafts.

Then, two bloggers went to the street where China Construction Bank’s 7.17 Better Life Festival was located. Many cost-effective products can be purchased for one yuan by downloading the CCB app. Alex interviewed some passersby on this street, asking them about their opinions on this event and Chongqing, thus introducing this event to overseas audiences from another perspective.

Finally, at 8 pm, the two bloggers entered the opening ceremony venue of the 2023 National Summer Consumption Season and Sleepless Chongqing Life Festival and watched the “City of the Night” fantasy drama presented by more than 20 performers. On the mirror stage, they used body language to interpret the unexpected and magical wonders of the 8D city (Chongqing) through song and dance, acrobatics, magic, and other forms. The lighting was dazzling, the music was deafening, and the atmosphere was extremely hot. The two bloggers also waved their arms to the beat of the music.

During the event, the organizers will collaborate with various districts and counties, commercial districts, scenic spots, commercial complexes, and brand merchants in Chongqing to carry out over 200 unique activities, including the Chongqing International Beer Culture Festival, the Night South Shore Life Festival, the First Entertainment Experience Festival in Shibati, the first  Night Wine Culture Festival in Chongqing Tiandi, the Huaxi Live Music Festival, and the 14th Xiannv Mountain International Camping Music Season in 2023, focusing on consumer upgrading trends, exploring local characteristics and folk culture and enriching the activity content. Through this event, the two bloggers expressed their great love for Chongqing’s nightlife and will focus on shooting videos of Chongqing’s nightlife in the future.
