Chongqing stands out as a strategic pillar of both the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Silk Road Economic Belt. The solid friendship and mutual trust between SCCCI and Chongqing officials have fostered strong ties.

Following the launch of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI), SCCCI further cemented this relationship by establishing a representative office in Chongqing, paving the way for increased cooperation between enterprises in both areas.

Keng outlined how SCCCI members actively contribute to developing Chongqing and the ILSTC. Successful ventures like the New World Chongqing Hotel, Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) DC Multimodal Logistics Co., Ltd., Chongqing Yumaotong Technology Service Co., Ltd, and Raffles City Chongqing boost confidence in future cooperation.

Recently, China and Singapore issued the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Singapore on Establishing an All-round, High-Quality, and Forward-looking Partnership. This landmark agreement symbolizes a shared vision for comprehensive and innovative cooperation spanning trade, investment, the green and digital economy, food security, and finance.

A few months back, Keng led an SCCCI delegation to Chongqing to personally witness the progress of bilateral cooperation and friendship. The visit allowed SCCCI members to interact with relevant local departments, thus deepening their understanding of the local business environment.

Keng expressed satisfaction with how both Singapore and China are now leveraging the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership to amplify regional trade and investment facilitation.

"Singapore and China's digital economies, coupled with regional digital integration, are critical catalysts for enhancing cooperative efficiency between China and ASEAN countries," he said. As big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technologies evolve, cross-border industrial chains, supply chains, and markets are poised for more efficient growth.

Looking ahead, Keng voiced his aspiration for the two nations to scale new heights in digital connectivity, leading to a surge in the real economy's growth. He reaffirmed SCCCI's commitment to work with all stakeholders to generate more scalable and replicable experiences, contributing to the ILSTC's prosperity, integrity, and mutual benefit.
