Chongqing- The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Natural Resources have recently issued a joint circular naming 22 logistic parks, including the renowned Chongqing Nanpeng Trade Logistics Base, to their fourth batch of national demonstration logistics parks.

Parks in this new batch share features of logistical operations embedded deep within the industrial supply chain, thus facilitating a seamless union of manufacturing and logistics. These parks leverage digital technology to bolster operational efficiency and foster connections between various modes of transport, thereby amplifying multimodal transport capacity.
Situated in Banan District, the Chongqing Highway Logistics Base sprawls across approximately 1,202 hectares of land managed by Chongqing Highway Logistics Base Construction Co., Ltd. This base serves a critical role as Chongqing's international trade logistics center, the linchpin of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), the primary highway logistics hub in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and the ASEAN's services trade headquarters.
With the addition of the Chongqing Highway Logistics Base, Chongqing now boasts three national demonstration logistics parks, including the Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park and the Xiushan (Wuling) Modern Logistics Park.

The base is a hotbed for successful trade and logistics enterprises such as JD.com, China South City, SF, and STO Express, with over 5,000 market players converging to focus on e-commerce, integrated logistics, and international trade. From January to June 2023, Chongqing Highway Logistics Base recorded an impressive deal volume of approximately 60.3 billion yuan (8.4 billion U.S. dollars), pushing cumulative trading volume beyond 450 billion yuan.
As a multimodal transport logistics hub, the base is strategically located at the intersection of the Inner Ring expressway, Chongqing-Guizhou highway, and Chongqing-Hunan highway, thus facilitating smooth and rapid access to the city's districts and counties, as well as key hub cities, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Guoyuan Port, and major railway stations within an hour's reach.

Open channels are a hallmark of Chongqing Highway Logistics Base. It is a critical link to Europe and Central Asia, extending its network coverage to the ASEAN cross-border highway transportation. Two new stops, Nongdao town and Tianbao port in Yunnan Province, have been recently added.
The base also holds the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) cross-border through-traffic licenses and the Transport International Router(TIR) certificate. Between January to June, the base saw an impressive 2,426 lorry departures, carrying 5,458 TEUs valued at 1.6 billion yuan.
The leadership of the logistics base recognizes the crucial impact of this national demonstration park approval on the logistics industry development in western China. This honor elevates western China's logistics operation system while strengthening the connection with the ASEAN market and deepening its Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) engagement.
