Chongqing - From August 10th to 14th, the Chongqing Window for International Exchanges of Culture and Tourism organized a delegation from the Liangping District's Cultural and Tourism Commission, district-owned cultural and tourism enterprises, and the Yushang International Hotel to participate in the 2023 NATAS Travel Fair held in Singapore.
Utilizing this international platform, Chongqing's Liangping District took the opportunity to build a public brand as the capital of prefabricated food in western China. They showcased unique Chongqing tourist destinations and exhibited locally crafted cultural and tourism products.
The NATAS Travel Fair stands out as one of Singapore's pivotal tourism exhibitions. It offers local travel agencies a stage to introduce and market diverse international travel products and services. This event also serves as an effective medium for countries and regions to elevate their tourism profiles.
This year's fair is especially significant for Chongqing as it marks its first-ever participation, demonstrating the city's commitment to the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Cultural and Tourism Industry Alliance.
During their stint in Singapore, the Chongqing delegation networked with key players, including the Singapore Tourism Board, SPACElogic Group, and Golden International Holdings. In-depth discussions were initiated with the Singapore Tourism Board, focusing on fostering further collaboration and cultural exchanges between both regions.
A spotlight of these discussions was the exploration of hosting recognized intellectual property (IP) exhibitions in China featuring prominent brands like Marvel. They also deliberated on leveraging resources from the Singaporean body's Cambodian branch, integrating them within the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism.
In addition, there was a mutual consensus on Chongqing's participation in Singapore's "Spring In The City" event and on encouraging youth interactions and educational exchanges between the two regions.
Looking ahead, the Chongqing Window for International Exchanges of Culture and Tourism aims to amplify its role as a leading municipal platform for international cultural and tourism exchanges. The institution aspires to merge global resources, bolstering Chongqing's cultural and tourism offerings through synergistic corporate initiatives and utilizing global exhibition and festival platforms. This aligns with the city's vision to internationalize its cultural and tourism sector.
