Opening ceremonies and roadshow activities were held for pavilions representing countries such as Singapore, Italy, Austria, Uruguay, Israel, and more during the 2023 Smart China Expo (2023 SCE) starting on September 4 in Chongqing International Expo Center.
With the active participation of foreign consulates in Chongqing and Chengdu, 71 companies and institutions led by eight consulates attended this year's SCE. The national pavilions from different countries focused on intelligent connected new energy vehicles (NEVs), showcasing their respective industries and presenting unique features and highlights.
For instance, exhibiting companies in the National Pavilion of Singapore span various sectors, including education, technology, consulting, and software. The presentation of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) was of particular note.
Within the National Pavilion of Italy, 10 Italian companies related to the automotive industry, including STMicroelectronics, a global leader in semiconductors, which is set to establish a joint venture factory in Chongqing.
The Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing invited the owner of an all-electric convertible sports car to showcase advanced power battery technology and their "star products." This fully electric convertible sports car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.6 seconds.
The National Pavilion of Israel was represented by five Israeli companies, including Nasdaq-listed companies and global leaders in niche industries. The exhibition covered a wide range of technologies in the automotive industry, including Israel's advanced intelligent driver assistance systems, advanced automotive manufacturing technology, artificial intelligence voice, innovative motion control, machine vision depth camera sensing chips, and 3D printing.
In addition to their participation as exhibitors, the 15 foreign consulates in Chongqing and Chengdu also extended invitations to over 100 representatives from the institutions and businesses in their countries.
On September 5, the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government also hosted a visit for foreign embassies and guests from enterprises to visit the Western (Chongqing) Science City and businesses in the Bishan High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
