Chongqing's Innovative Strategies Aim to Elevate Service Industry

By ZHAN CHEN|Sep 11,2023

Chongqing - Southwest China's Chongqing has been recognized for its forward-thinking strategies, with 11 initiatives selected as benchmark demonstrations to elevate the national service sector in 2023. This distinction was announced at the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

A major event at CIFTIS, the "Invest in China Year - The Promotion Conference on Greater Openness in the Services Sector," displayed the impressive results and advancements of China's burgeoning service industry.

The conference unveiled the leading practices for 2023 aimed at expanding the national service industry. These cover diverse areas such as financial innovation, green development, the digital economy, and healthcare.

Chongqing's 11 highlighted initiatives touch on a variety of sectors. These range from pioneering green financial solutions and the Chongqing-ASEAN international highway logistics pathway to certifications for foreign professional qualifications.

A notable example is the railway express method, which allows businesses to avoid cumbersome customs transfer procedures. The new system automatically processes electronic data through the railway infrastructure, eliminating the need for additional loading, unloading, or verification once the train arrives at its port. This innovation not only streamlines port operations but also boosts efficiency and reduces expenses.

Furthermore, Chongqing is charting a new path with a comprehensive management strategy, implementing multi-regional offices to roll out a unique global legal service model. Chongqing gains insights from international legal professionals by establishing a central mainland office and branches in global hubs like Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and New York.

This innovative approach has delivered holistic legal services for Chinese enterprises, such as the Bosai Group, covering areas like investment, intellectual property rights, and operational compliance in nations along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

By collaborating with over 70 foreign law firms through LAWorld, a worldwide legal cooperation network, the endeavor seeks to support Chinese enterprises in their international growth and facilitate multinational firms' entry into China, offering an extensive suite of international legal services.
