Chongqing - The 15th annual "Chongqing·Taiwan Week" kicked off Tuesday in Chongqing, a landmark event celebrating cross-Strait relations and collaboration.
The opening ceremonies were marked by a project signing segment where nine pivotal economic and trade agreements were inked, involving eight districts, counties, and open platforms. These agreements represent a total investment of 11.735 billion yuan ($1.61 billion). The initiatives endorsed during the ceremony encompass a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, cultural tourism, agriculture, and the creation of youth employment and entrepreneurial incubation hubs.

Key representatives from entities such as the Cross-Strait Industrial Promotion Association, Shuyunju Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., New Grid Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., and Yutai Media Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. came forward to finalize agreements with regions like the Fuling District, Dadukou District, Yongchuan District, Bishan District, Kaizhou District, Zhongxian County, Xiushan County, and the Chongqing Bonded Port Group.
With the overarching theme, "Sharing New Opportunities and Pursuing New Development," this year's "Chongqing·Taiwan Week" envisions itself as a nexus for cross-Strait dialogue, a magnet for investments from Taiwan, and a dream hub for Taiwan compatriots. The event aims to spotlight Chongqing's premium development trajectory, boasting four primary sections comprising 19 activities.
Since its commencement in 2009, the annual "Chongqing·Taiwan Week" has become a pivotal platform for holistic exchanges and an essential conduit for economic and trade interactions between Chongqing and Taiwan.
In its 14-year history, the "Chongqing·Taiwan Week" has sealed 179 projects, amassing investments of around 140 billion yuan. These endeavors span diverse domains, from electronic information and software development to industrial manufacturing and cutting-edge agriculture.
Several renowned Taiwan-based enterprises have invested substantially in Chongqing, crafting an integrated trading and processing blueprint characterized as "whole machines + components." This dynamic synergy has significantly bolstered Chongqing's stature as an open inland pinnacle.
