On September 27, three of the eight famous scenic areas in Zhongxian County, SW China's Chongqing, will open to tourists, including Huanghuacheng Archaeological Site Park, Duzhujiang Village, and Sanxia Liucheng · Zhongzhou Ancient Street.

Among them, Huanghuacheng Archaeological Site Park is one of the key projects under the construction of the national park (Chongqing section) with Yangtze River culture as the theme. The archaeological site park is divided into several parts: a city gate exhibition area, an archaeological experience area, a military experience area, a government office exhibition area, a terrace-based wetland area, and a waterfront leisure area. It is expected to be the first archaeological park open along the Three Gorges.

Huanghua Island covers an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. Integrating the island with the city and natural ecology with cultural heritage, Huanghua City is the only isolated city site in the defense system of the Southern Song Dynasty in the Mountain City. Over 3,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics and specimens have been unearthed from the island.

During the opening period, Huanghuacheng Archaeological Site Park will hold an activity under the theme of "Exploration in Huanghua City," enabling tourists to feel archaeology's cultural charm. Besides, there will be various Song culture experience activities, such as the interaction with NPCs, traditional Chinese-style parades, the Huanghua market, "Little Archaeologist," and Song-style sitcoms.

Duzhujiang Village is about three kilometers east of Zhongxian County, where the Yangtze River makes a sizeable U-shaped turn, forming an area 3,500 meters long from east to west and 600 to 1,800 meters wide from north to south. Located on a peninsula that faces the river on three sides and is backed by the mountain on one side, the village looks like a solitary pearl, hence the name.

During the opening period, the village will stage many activities, including grassland concerts, engaging farming experiences, and visits to the Smart Agricultural Park to celebrate the harvest. Tourists can feel the solid local culture by experiencing the exciting farming activities and rural customs. Walking on Manxing Greenway, tourists can enjoy the scenery along the river and bathe in the breeze to refresh their minds and souls. On Lanniwan Lawn, tourists can enjoy painting and photography and savor a delicious barbecue buffet. In the Smart Agricultural Park, they can appreciate flowers and pick fruits all year round.

Sanxia Liucheng · Zhongzhou Ancient Street is the only semi-submerged county in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and the ancient street is currently the most prominent mountain street with Bayu characteristics in the Chongqing section of the Yangtze River. Located at 175 meters, the half-preserved old city is of great value. Cultural relics and buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasty, such as the ancient city gates and mansions, are preserved in their original state.

Houses and lanes in Zhongzhou Ancient Street have a long history, and the residents are aborigines so tourists can feel the intense atmosphere of rural life there. During the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, tourists can appreciate happy poem-themed salons, concerts, cultural exhibitions, and traditional Chinese-style dances and participate in such characteristic events as long-table banquets, fairs, and intangible cultural heritage co-creation activities.
