Chongqing Spoils Tourists with Over 200 Cultural and Tourism Activities for Upcoming Holiday

Chongqing - As the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approach, Southwest China's Chongqing spoils its residents and visitors by announcing more than 200 autumn cultural and tourism activities and over 70 initiatives during the holidays on September 25.

These activities include national-themed events, intangible cultural heritage experience activities, and poetry and calligraphy exhibitions. Additionally, there are unique autumn experiences, such as visiting flower fields, exploring countryside life, and outdoor adventures. Chongqing is also offering over 70 discounts on tickets, accommodation, and entertainment, making it an ideal time for travel.

The confluence of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day provides an extended eight-day holiday starting from September 29, presenting the perfect opportunity for locals and tourists to explore the rich cultural tapestry and breathtaking landscapes Chongqing offers.

National-themed events

The theme of Chinese culture takes center stage, with various districts and counties organizing events celebrating China's essence. These events highlight traditions, folk culture, and artistic expressions deeply rooted in the nation's history.

Activities like "Poetry Renewal and Classic Recitation" and the "Mid-Autumn Poetry Appreciation Concert" were organized in Yubei District and Fengdu County, showcasing the poetic spirit of the festivals. 

The 5th Jinfo Mountain National Trend Culture Festival has combined the Mid-Autumn moon worship ceremony with innovative National Day activities, offering an immersive interactive experience in the aesthetics of the Tang Dynasty that refreshes people's visual, auditory, gustatory, and tactile senses. 

Ba'nan, Qianjiang, and Yunyang host folk-themed activities, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

Jiulongpo District presents a special intangible cultural heritage exhibition called "Discovering Heritage, Elegant Mid-Autumn Feast," creating a holiday cultural celebration with a vibrant array of activities.

Unlock Creative Autumn Activities 

With so many exciting autumn activities and an eight-day holiday, it's time to explore in style!

Tourists can embark on a visual journey to Youyang's Stone Flower Valley, where they can experience a romantic rendezvous amid the pink peony flower sea, or visit Jiangbei's osmanthus market, explore the sunflower exhibition at Nanshan Botanical Garden, stroll through the reed marshes at Jiulongpo's Caohai Bay Park, enjoy the Gesang flower sea at Banan's camping music festival, or head to Dianjiang to appreciate the "hundred-acre roses, and daisies," and immerse themselves in the colorful autumn scenery.

They can also join the 2023 Bamboo Shoot Food Culture Festival on Jinfo Mountain, partake in the bamboo shoot worship ceremony, and truly "harvest" some bamboo shoots.
