Chongqing - Bijin Park is an iconic cultural and recreational landmark in Chongqing Yubei District that offers free public access, blending culture, leisure, entertainment, and fitness. 

It was first built in 1987 and later expanded to over 33 acres in 1993, standing as a prime example of landscape architecture in the city. 

Inside, there are many cultural facilities such as the Bayu Folk Museum, Bijin Arts Gallery, and the Bayu Martial Arts Research Institute, which add refinement to this peaceful urban getaway set amidst lush surroundings and emerald nuanced lakes.

Chongqing Bayu Folk Museum is nestled inside the park and features the Bayu Antique Bed Museum, showcasing a variety of characteristic antique beds from the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to the Republican era (1912-1949), as well as exquisite wood carvings, including ancestral shrines and plaques.

The meticulously carved and gilded Babu bed has intricate flora and bird patterns, representing the epitome of luxurious slumber in the Qing Dynasty. This display item has been recognized as the treasure of the museum’s collection in Chongqing.

The Bashu 72 Professions Exhibition Hall is themed around traditional occupations from the region and displays 79 sets of sculptures featuring 108 characters and props. Each presents a distinctive labor scene dating from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republican Era. Among these vivid artistic creations are instantly recognizable depictions of carpenters, tailors, fishermen, porters, boat trackers, and more.

Tranquil walking trails connect scenic attractions inside Bijin Park and entice visitors with distinct seasonal views to admire throughout each year. Stood beside the lake and gardens, peach blossoms flower in the warmth of spring, lotus flowers bloom in the refreshing summer, chrysanthemum flower in the golden autumn, and wintersweet exude their rich fragrance in the depths of winter.

Bijin Park has blended cultural heritage from the Bashu region with a serene natural environment for both leisure and enlightenment, making this landmark a top choice for the citizens of Yubei District and beyond whilst also providing a new model for creating beautiful green spaces located in urban areas.
