Chongqing- As the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) celebrates its 10th anniversary, iChongqing sat down for an exclusive conversation with Prof. Swaran Singh from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
By June 2023, China had signed more than 200 BRI cooperation agreements with more than 150 countries and 30 international organizations across five continents, yielding a number of signature projects and small-scale yet impactful projects.
In the opinion of Prof. Swaran Singh, the BRI is the unprecedentedly largest and constantly evolving initiative that world history has ever seen. It has an enormous impact on the global economy, international financial governance, and development around the world. He also thought that, at present, it's significant time to rethink how the BRI can be made more effective and challenges can be addressed.
