Chongqing - "The latest trends and innovations in the global new energy sector provide us with insights for future projects and studies," commented Sunny Lin, Vice Chairman of Chongqing Renewable Energy Society and General Manager of Chongqing Tanva Lighting Co., Ltd, following his participation in the Third Asian and Pacific Energy Forum (APEF3) recently held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Chongqing Tanva Lighting Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive enterprise specializing in the design & development, manufacture, sale, and service of lamps. Highlighted products include energy-saving lamps. Lin stressed the importance of ramping up research and development in the new energy sector. This will address current energy challenges and pave the way for greater business prospects and job creation.

The APEF3 event saw participation from over 200 representatives from more than 20 countries. Chongqing Renewable Energy Society spearheaded the involvement of eight institutions from Chongqing.

85% comprehensive energy saving rate of urban construction

"I view this as a golden opportunity," Lin said. "New energy sources combat climate change and drive innovation and sustainable growth."

Lin thinks the emergence of new energy signifies the dawn of a cleaner, sustainable, and low-carbon age. This shift has profound implications for our environment, society, and economy.

The smart streetlights that Lin's company designs are a vivid example. From top to bottom, this light is equipped with various practical functions, from 5G base stations, monitoring probes, and air monitoring to intelligent garbage cans and more, contributing to smart city management.

"By using smart light pole Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the comprehensive energy saving rate of urban construction can reach 85%, resulting in a lower construction cost," added Lin.

Besides the product, the Chongqing delegation showcased China's expertise in green energy solutions for developing nations at the forum. Their presentations covered renewable energy production, energy conservation, and carbon-neutral services.

Chongqing leverages natural resources for collaboration

During the forum, energy representatives from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and several island nations engaged in detailed dialogues with the Chongqing delegation, forging ties with various businesses in attendance.

Lin perceives this forum as a prime opportunity for Chongqing to foster collaborations with new global energy enterprises. "Such potential collaborations can offer mutual benefits regarding technology exchange, investment partnerships, and market outreach," she remarked.

She highlighted Chongqing's rich natural resources, which significantly propel the growth of new energy sectors like hydro, solar, and wind.

Lin believes that Chongqing needs to amplify its focus on energy infrastructure and clean technology to guarantee the sustainable evolution of energy. Furthermore, international collaborations could augment Chongqing's prominence in the sector, aligning with local and global market needs.
