Chongqing - On November 6, Souwest China's Sichuan and Chongqing collaboratively released a list of 16 medical projects, during the Forum on Future Medicine Innovation Cooperation.

As a sub-event of the inaugural Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange, the forum garnered the sponsorship of both the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the People's Government of Chongqing Municipality. The announced list spans three critical sectors: precise diagnosis, precise treatment, and precise evaluation, encompassing 16 targeted projects. Each project may receive up to 10 million yuan (USD 1.37 million) in funding, with the implementation phase in principle not surpassing a two-year timeline.

It zeroes in on medical breakthroughs and the vision for future medicine while deliberating on frameworks for open collaboration. Discussions at the forum are underpinned by exchanging insights on international scientific collaboration, aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), addressing pivotal challenges in applying life science innovations to enhance public health.
