Chongqing - On November 11, the launching ceremony of YUE Sports Chongqing International Expo Center Youth Sports Center, henceforth known as YUE Sports, was celebrated grandly. Nestled in the vibrant Yuelai New City of Liangjiang New Area, YUE Sports is a haven for sports enthusiasts and heralds a new era in the development of Chongqing’s youth sports.

YUE Sports, sprawling across 83,000 square meters, offers a wide array of nine major sports disciplines, including fencing, basketball, football, badminton, table tennis, swimming, dance, etc. Its advanced facilities have achieved world-class standards and received certifications for professional competition venues. Additionally, YUE Sports boasts a full range of support services - from expert studios, a sports infirmary, and a sports medicine clinic to strength training rooms, athlete apartments, restaurants, convenience stores, and more. Designed to offer a holistic sports development program for youngsters aged 4-18, the center serves as a multifaceted hub, encompassing professional sports training, competitive talent nurturing, and youth sports events. This comprehensive platform seamlessly integrates sports training, competition, and education, catering to the evolving needs of young athletes.

YUE Sports has garnered significant interest from youth sports organizations domestically and internationally. A notable collaboration has been forged with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), culminating in the establishment of the first Chinese youth training center for the French Ligue 1 at YUE Sports. In addition, the center has partnered with the Tony Parker Adéquat Academy to jointly host various activities, including winter and summer holiday camps, further enhancing its offerings and global sports connections.

Ou Jian, the Principal of the High School Affiliated with Southwest University, expressed the school’s desire to enhance collaboration with YUE Sports, particularly in student training, event organization, and sports education forums. He highlighted the vital role of sports in the holistic development of students. By merging sports with education, he envisions providing students ample opportunities to engage in developmental activities during weekends and holidays, fostering their physical and mental well-being. Ou Jian firmly believes that sports safeguard students’ physical health and play a crucial role in nurturing their resilience, willpower, and awareness of teamwork.

Chen Liuzhu, Principal of Yew Chung International School of Chongqing, elaborated on the school’s collaborative plans with YUE Sports, viewed through the lens of international education. She outlined plans for jointly hosting a variety of sports and educational activities with YUE Sports, encompassing disciplines like basketball, volleyball, and swimming. Additionally, the school aims to bring more sports events, co-organized with international schools, to Chongqing. Chen underscored the crucial role of physical education in shaping student character and highlighted the school’s distinction as an institution accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), which facilitates the provision of premium physical education courses. She also discussed future initiatives planned with YUE Sports, including off-campus sports events and inter-campus sports competitions, further enriching the school’s dynamic activity roster.
