Chongqing - From Chongqing's Yongchuan District, the first JSQ commercial train for the China Railway Express, carrying 232 vehicles valued at 42 million yuan (about USD 5.8 million) from GWM, a leading SUV and pickup manufacturer, embarked on its journey to Europe on November 14.
JSQ, a specialized rail transport solution, facilitates this journey. Its carriages boast vast capacity and robust stability, allowing commercial vehicles to drive right in. This route enhances vehicle transport's safety, speed, efficiency, and eco-friendliness.
According to the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, this train significantly aids local production logistics. It cuts the transit distance by 100 kilometers and eliminates one loading phase, streamlining operations for Yongchuan and nearby foreign trade companies and boosting their access to the European market.
Additionally, this seamless international rail service eliminates the need for rearranging cargo mid-journey. Local enterprises can access this international route directly, saving two to three days in transport time.
This May also witnessed a JSQ special train with over 200 Chongqing-manufactured automobiles departing from the Chongqing Yuzui Freight Station to Kazakhstan via the Horgos Port in Xinjiang.
Central Asian countries depend heavily on overland transportation due to a lack of coastal ports. The JSQ special train has allowed Chongqing's leading automobile manufacturers confidence in exporting vehicles to Central Asia.
Beyond generating sales profits, this expansion further enhances the industrial, supply, and value chains, bolstering Chinese automobile brands' global stature and reputation.
Yongchuan District officials highlight the China Railway Express's role in offering a time-efficient, cost-effective, and reliable rail channel. This service is a gateway for Yongchuan's global market expansion and positions Western Chongqing's industries more competitively in international trade.
Since the beginning of this year, Yongchuan's trade record includes around 1,000 TEUs of exports via the China Railway Express, such as cars, motorcycles, and agricultural equipment.
About 6,000 TEUs of products, including pulp, toilet paper, and motorcycles, were shipped through the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC).
Now, Yongchuan is hastening the development of its global logistics center, leveraging domestic and international routes, including the China Railway Express and the ILSTC, to extend its reach across Asia and Europe.
