"The Week of Italian Cuisine is an initiative designed by the Italian Government and implemented by Embassies, Consulates, and Cultural Institutes in more than 110 countries worldwide. Year after year, this event has become an important opportunity for globally spreading and sharing the key features and strengths of the Italian eno-gastronomic tradition," said Fabio Schina, the Italian Consul General in Chongqing.

This year's edition, whose theme is "At the table with Italian cuisine: well-being with taste," emphasizes the connection between the Mediterranean diet, which has been universally recognized as a healthy and high-quality way of eating, and a healthy lifestyle.

From November 13 to 19, over 30 events and promotional activities of various kinds will take place in Chongqing, Chengdu, Guiyang, and Kunming. The activities include tastings, cooking classes, and other promotional initiatives involving restaurants, luxury hotels, ice cream parlors, and Italian food product distributors.
"Quality, sustainability, culture, food security, right to food, education, territory, biodiversity. These are just some of the values we intend to promote through our activities," said the Consul General.
He added, "Initiatives such as the Week of Italian Cuisine are important platforms for exchange and dialogue between Italy and China in crucial sectors such as food safety and psychophysical well-being."
