Chongqing - The Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office(FAO) of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Wang Wen, welcomed and congratulated the newly appointed Canadian Consul General to Chongqing, Eva Yi-Hua Yu, during a meeting held on November 10. The two officials engaged in discussions to enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Canada in various fields.
Wang Wen expressed her warm welcome and congratulations to Eva Yi-Hua Yu on assuming her role as the Canadian Consul General in Chongqing. She highlighted the close economic and trade ties between Chongqing and Canada, noting the presence of well-known Canadian consumer brands such as Arc'teryx, lululemon, and Tim Hortons in Chongqing, which have gained popularity among the residents.
The Canadian Consulate General in Chongqing has established extensive friendly contacts with various sectors in Chongqing since its opening, actively contributing to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and Canada.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Canadian consular institutions in Chongqing, and the FAO of the Chongqing Municipal Government pledged continued support for the work of the Canadian Consulate General in Chongqing. Both parties aim to collaborate in economic and trade exchanges, green and low-carbon initiatives, biomedicine, education, and culture to develop Sino-Canadian friendship.
Eva Yi-Hua Yu expressed her joy at working in Chongqing, describing it as a beautiful and highly promising metropolis. She affirmed the commitment of the Canadian Consulate General in Chongqing to promoting long-term and friendly bilateral relations, expanding personnel exchanges, and facilitating substantive cooperation projects.
