Chongqing - In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms have become integral to various industries, such as finance, healthcare, industrial production, and coal mining. While the digital economy brings unprecedented convenience, it also introduces risks, including hacking, tampering, data fabrication, and synchronization issues due to equipment failures.
Addressing the imperative need for more reliable and secure AI algorithms, the Sichuan-Chongqing Key Laboratory of Digital Economy Intelligence and Security, led by Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), aims to provide solutions to these challenges.

As the nation's first research platform explicitly named for digital economy intelligence and security, the lab draws on the strengths of CQUPT and the UESTC. With one team specializing in AI and the other in network cybersecurity, the lab focuses on advancing the theoretical foundations and applied technologies for digitizing industries, especially in advanced manufacturing.
AI and security form a core area of research for the lab. Leveraging big data collection and analysis, the lab aims to identify security threats within advanced manufacturing, predict potential vulnerabilities or attacks, and assist businesses and individuals in making informed security decisions. This proactive approach seeks to safeguard networks and information security.
Furthermore, recognizing blockchain technology as a vital means to achieve data security, the lab plans to develop blockchain technology enhanced by AI algorithms. For instance, in the context of coal mine safety, the lab envisions applying this technology to processes like mining and trading, ensuring traceability and heightened security throughout.
According to the lab's plans, within the next three to five years, the universities aim to establish the lab as a nationally leading institution for knowledge innovation and research platforms in the field of information science, addressing critical scientific and technological challenges in big data intelligence security. The collaborative efforts will extend to key areas of the digital economy in Chongqing and Sichuan, including intelligent transportation, smart cities, intelligent automobile manufacturing, smart healthcare, intelligent security, and data trading markets. This initiative seeks to contribute to constructing a national-level scientific and technological innovation center in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
