Exporting incineration technology and expertise to BRI Partner countries

One of the participants, Chen Yuanli, a deputy to the Chongqing Municipal People's Congress and the director of the market development department at Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Corp., Ltd., shared insights into the waste-to-energy (WTE) industry.

Chongqing Sanfeng Environment Group Corp., Ltd. is focused on waste incineration power generation project investment, EPC, equipment manufacturing, and operation management. "Our team has been actively raising awareness by inviting villagers and friends to our incineration plant, which has been an eye-opening experience for them," she said.

The WTE sector is rapidly expanding due to growing environmental awareness, where Chen's team has focused on scientific research and industrial upgrading. They have invested in constructing 56 incineration plants throughout China and are also exporting their incineration technology and expertise to the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

This year, Chen is suggesting creating parks around incineration facilities. She believes that government-led initiatives to centralize urban waste management can significantly reduce the environmental toll from various disposal sites. This approach not only intends to optimize land use but also strives to balance environmental sustainability with economic growth.
