Chongqing has been promoting the development of high-end equipment manufacturing, capitalizing on strengths in high-end CNC machine tools, aerospace, robotics, rail transportation, energy, and environmental protection equipment. Significant advancements have been achieved in key metrics across each sector.

In addition, Chongqing has gathered well-known domestic and international enterprises such as Kawasaki and Huazhong CNC, as well as new high-end research institutions such as Chongqing Googol Changjiang Research Institute.

Locally manufactured products such as ABB transformers and CSIC wind turbines are highly competitive in domestic and international markets.

Key business and industrial parks

These include the China-German (Chongqing) Intelligent Industrial Park, Shuitu High-Tech Industrial Park in Liangjiang New Area, Yufu Industrial Park, and Dazu High-Tech Zone Robotics Industrial Base.

Key development focus and investment areas

Following the high-end, intelligent, integrated development trend, Chongqing introduces high-end equipment products, enhances the local supporting system for key components, and strengthens the supply capacity of total contracting and system solutions. The city also endeavors to construct a nationally significant industrial base for high-end CNC machine tools, urban rail transit vehicles, leading industrial robots in western China, and additive manufacturing equipment.
