Chongqing is rich in new energy resources, including wind and solar. Notable companies in this sector include CSIC (Chongqing), Haizhuang Windpower Equipment, and Heyou Chongqing Solar Energy. The city also hosts over 80 supporting companies for wind power equipment, forming an industry cluster with an annual output value surpassing 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion).

Key development focus and investment areas

Equipment and products for solar energy, nuclear power, wind power, shale gas, and energy storage are key areas of focus. Besides, Chongqing attracts leading enterprises in manufacturing complete machines, blades, controls, etc. The city also brings leading enterprises to establish production bases and R&D centers.
