In an effort to advance the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and accelerate the construction of the Bashu cultural tourism corridor, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, in collaboration with the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, has announced a nationwide tourism promotion campaign with the theme "Welcoming the Spring with the Beauty of Basins and Rivers, Celebrating the New Year with Joy and Happiness."

As the Chinese New Year approaches, Chongqing and Sichuan will produce special videos of pandas conveying New Year greetings. These heartwarming videos will include adorable child voiceovers, extending warm wishes to visitors nationwide and inviting them to celebrate the Chinese New Year in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, fostering engaging interactions.

During the Spring Festival, the two regions will also release videos showcasing the festive decorations, atmosphere, and activities in their respective ancient towns. Chongqing's featured towns include Tongliang Anju Ancient City, Hechuan Laitan Ancient Town, and Ciqikou Ancient Town. Meanwhile, Sichuan will present Lanzhong Ancient City, Huanglongxi Ancient Town, and Jiezi Ancient Town, among others.

Chongqing and Sichuan's cultural and tourism authorities will jointly initiate various online activities, such as traditional customs, the Year of the Dragon-themed series, Sichuan-style New Year delicacies showdown, "Enjoying the Snow Together," and more. These activities will encourage nationwide participants to share their travel experiences, stories, and videos and engage in lively discussions in the comment sections.

A special highlight of this collaboration is the unveiling of the "2024 Chongqing-Sichuan Top Ten Boutique Tourism Routes," which will be widely promoted across various online platforms. This initiative aims to attract more visitors to explore and experience the rich cultural and tourism resources of the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
