Chongqing - Chongqing's inaugural direct passenger flight to Milan, Italy, will take off on March 19, becoming the second international regular passenger flight route launched this year from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. 

Hainan Airlines' new Chongqing-Milan route, operated with a Boeing 787 aircraft, will run twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays). Departing from Chongqing at 02:00 AM, it arrives at Milan Malpensa Airport at 06:45 AM, with an 11-hour and 45-minute flight duration. The return flight departs Milan at 11:15 AM, reaching Chongqing the next day at 05:00 AM, with a flight time of approximately 10 hours and 45 minutes (all times are local).

Milan, a global fashion and art hub, is one of the world's design capitals, rich in historical and cultural significance and economic prominence. It is the birthplace of nearly half of the world's luxury brands and hosts many Italian fashion headquarters.

Through Milan, travelers can connect to numerous cities in Europe, Africa, and North America. The airport offers convenient services such as transit without visa and direct baggage transfer.

"The inauguration of the Chongqing-Milan international air route will positively influence the economic development and cultural exchanges between Chongqing and Milan," said a Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport representative. "It will also facilitate closer cooperation between China and Italy." 

He added that the airport would continue collaborating with the municipal government's port logistics office and other relevant departments to promote opening more international passenger routes, constructing a smooth and convenient "air bridge" for Chongqing's inland open economic development.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport boasts a robust network with 21 international (and regional) passenger routes, offering over 110 flights weekly. Destinations span Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, including cities like London, Paris, Sydney, and Dubai.
