Chongqing - On February 5, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. (GENERTEC) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to enhance collaboration in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and technology services, trade, and engineering services.

Founded in March 1998, Genertec focuses on three primary industries: advanced manufacturing and technology services, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and trade and engineering services.

Yuan Jiajun, secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, said it is hoped that this signing will serve as a new starting point for companies to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in key industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and industrial machinery, as well as in reform efforts, leading to more landmark achievements in central and local government cooperation.

Yuan highlighted Chongqing's strengths, citing its large urban scale, strong industrial base, advanced transportation, ample development opportunities, and high-quality living, business, and tourism environment. These attributes are pivotal for regional development in China and its integration with the global economy.

The overlay of national strategies such as the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the construction of the national strategic hinterland has created new development advantages for Chongqing.

In the past year, Chongqing has made significant progress in implementing national strategies, hastening reforms in state-owned enterprises and development zones, and separating government and enterprise functions. This has revitalized state assets and continuously promoted high-quality development.
