Expanding laptop range and R&D to capture global orders

Dafeng (Chongqing) Pc Limited has maintained its top position in Chongqing's foreign trade and ranked second among the region's top 100 manufacturing enterprises since its establishment in Chongqing.

In light of the global order contraction and reduced laptop demand, the company focuses on enhancing its technological research and development to shift from low-value to high-value products in the global market.

"We have implemented multiple intelligent transformations to enhance efficiency and comprehensively seize global orders, with a primary focus on laptops, creating a global product series spanning high, medium, and low-end specifications," said the relevant person in charge of Dafeng (Chongqing) Pc Limited.

Over the past two years, Dafeng (Chongqing) Pc Limited has launched several SMT surface mount production lines, fully automating the motherboard assembly with smart equipment, information systems, and data analysis to create an intelligent IoT workshop platform.

Their automated production lines operate 24 hours a day, with real-time production monitoring, resulting in a production yield and pass rate of 99%. Additionally, they have established a brand research and development design center, continuously strengthening their R&D capabilities.

These companies partner with car makers to develop and produce automotive electronics, pushing the laptop industry into more valuable supply chain segments.

200% increase in customs clearance efficiency

In Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, international air cargo makes up 55% of the city's total, with the traditional customs model requiring goods to be inspected at the airport, leading to a high inspection load.

Air transportation is frequently used for lightweight products such as laptops and electronic components, with cargo inspection often being a logistics bottleneck.

"Today, the establishment of the pre-clearance cargo station in the Western (Chongqing) Science City significantly reduces the time we spend queuing for inspection at the airport," said the responsible person from Dafeng's affiliated logistics company.

Since last year, with backing from Chongqing Customs and Airport, Science City has led innovation by speeding up the setup of pre-clearance stations within the zone, allowing local enterprises to have goods inspected onsite, potentially doubling customs efficiency by 200%.

Science City also introduced the first nationwide 3C Exemption supervision model and a pilot for paperless export tax refunds, significantly speeding up new product development and tax refund processes to within two working days.

Last June, the Rahvolt energy storage project was launched in Western (Chongqing) Science City with a five billion RMB investment, focusing on independent research and development of products such as overseas residential energy storage, domestic industrial and commercial energy storage, and shared large energy storage cabinets.

In December of the same year, the Rahvolt project went from signing to operation, establishing international partnerships in the UK, Germany, Nepal, and Poland and achieving notable market success.
